Getting Started with the Compute Cloud

Registering for ARCS Services
To run jobs on the ARCS Compute Cloud, you will need to register with ARCS. ARCS registration will give you access to both the ARCS Data Fabric and the Compute Cloud.  To register for ARCS, navigate to www.arcs.org.au and click on the“Services Login” button.

Your login name and password for using ARCS Services
Follow the instructions on the Services Login screen. Most Australian universities and many research organisations are members of the Australian Access Federation (AAF). This means you can use your home institution login name and password to access ARCS Services. If your university or research organisation is not a member of the AAF, you can apply for an ARCS identity. The Services Login will guide you through this process.

Getting the software you need
The ARCS Compute Cloud provides a list of available applications. If the application you need is not available, you can request that your application be added to the Compute Cloud. If the application is available, but not set up in the way you need, submit a change request by e-mailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . ARCS will contact you to set up a template that meets your needs.
