The ARCS Database Service allows research groups and communities to operate databases in an environment that gives full access control to users – regardless of location or institution. The service is free of charge within stated ARCS limits. Individual arrangements can made for heavy users of the service. (ARCS Fair Use Policy)

Advantages of ARCS’ database services include:

  • Free limited database storage for reduced financial requirements and system administrative overhead
  • Backups for increased reliability
  • Project leader has full control over access policies for enhanced security
  • Increased productivity through lack of institutional boundaries

Currently supported software includes MySQL and PostgreSQL.
