Video Collaboration Workshops

ARCS will be presenting two workshops on video-collaboration tools (Access Grid and EVO). There are two main sections to these three-day workshops

  • Day One : a general overview of these ARCS-supported tools, and how they can be used to aid and enhance collaborative research
  • Days 2 and 3 : in-depth technical information on installing, configuring and using the Access Grid Toolkit in particular, and other information relevant to setting-up collaborative video-conference facilities in general

It is intended that Day One is quite general in nature, and suited for those who wish to find out what video collaboration is and what it can do for them, whilst Days 2 and 3 are for those who need to find out more technical information, with particular reference to using the Access Grid.

Those who plan to stay for Days 2/3 and who wish to gain hands-on experience in installing and configuring the software are encouraged to bring along their own laptops. A limited number of in situ machines will be provided at the Melbourne venue for this aspect of the workshop; however, at Adelaide, attendees should bring along their own machines for such activities.
