The ARCS Twiki site provides a dynamic platform to reflect the dynamic nature of 'the grid'.
GridAustralia has based its technology on published international standards and is an active player in the development and improvement of those standards. As much as possible, GridAustralia uses 'products' and production releases of tool kits but has had to develop some infrastructure components of its own to suit our local requirements.
GridAustralia has produced a number of 'products' that contribute to the world wide push to make grid middleware more functional and easier to use, especially to the end user.
- External products include Globus, in the form packaged by VDT which is widely used. Myproxy, OpenCA,VOMRS are key components. As is generally the case in grid middleware, Java, tomcat, gridsphere are widely used.
- Gateways - Much of the connectivity between participating sites is based on 'gateway' systems, often virtual machines (using Xen) to provide a standard interface between the user and the quite disparate hardware operated by GridAustralia partners.
- Grix - Grix is a tool that communicates directly to OpenCA from a user's desktop making the sometimes confusing process of x509 certificate management easier and less error prone.
- Grisu - Grisu is a light weight application/library that sits between a user's desktop application and the grid middleware. Its intention is to make the process of producing a customised graphical user interface easy.
